This gyrocopter was the first of three pieces made for our portfolio course at school. For this project, I wanted to make something using my own design, but in the same kind of style as Deathloop. My goal was to make it look like a makeshift gyrocopter in a somewhat run-down state.
I also wanted to dive into Unreal a bit more, as I usually resort to rendering stuff in Blender's real-time engine Eevee. I also wanted to keep the polycount down as much as possible, without losing too much detail.
I am very grateful to my classmates and teachers at my school, who gave me a lot of valuable feedback and ideas during the process. All assets and materials were made by me except for the vegetation, which was used from the free asset starter pack in Unreal. I used five texture sets with the biggest texture being 2k. I worked on this project half-time, i.e. 50%, and it took me about three weeks to complete.
A special thank you to Sixten for valuable feedback during this project https://www.artstation.com/sixten_a
